For what it's worth I did some regression testing of trunk a few days
ago with an ATI card and a recent version of the proprietary driver
and, while the overall results were unchanged, generally the ATI
card/driver combination didn't work well and hasn't for some time.
There are various issues with OpenGL (including screen corruption) and
XVideo that made it a fairly unpleasant experience.
