Jason,
I am not sure what version of Mythbuntu you are running so my
comments are version specific.

1) For any version since 0.22 (when MiroBridge was released), the
cronjob can be found by using the following command from a terminal session:
 > crontab -e

2) If you are running Mythbuntu 10.04 then you can simply control the
MiroBridge cron job be through the Mythbuntu Control Center (MCC) as
there is a MiroBridge MCC plug-in. It will be accessible through one of
the right hand tabs. With the plug-in you will not need to edit the
cronjob directly. You must run MCC on the MythTV backend you have
MiroBridge installed to see the plug-in.

3) If you installed MiroBridge yourself on Mythbuntu and are using
MythTV 0.22 then MiroBridge cannot be used with Miro version 3.x. Miro
version 3.x is only supported by MiroBridge in MythTV 0.23 and trunk.

I am not seeing any hangs on my own system. I highly recommend that you
apply the Mythbuntu daily updates for your MythTV version as both
Mythbuntu 9.10 and 10.04 included a pre-release of MythTV and many fixes
have been applied since Mythbuntu was released.

See this link to apply the daily builds:
