Maybe I didn't wrote my point clearly. 
It will surely show up if you have downloaded it from the website and
installed it manually into the theme folder.

I believe that a lot of users just install the packages like myththemes
and thats it. Maybe later they stumble upon the wiki and the theme page
and download new ones. Thats what I meant.

But as far as I know things will get better when the frontend offers
some kind of theme chooser.
