Sorry for taking so long to respond.. this list can be daunting to follow. :)

Specifically the problem is with MPEG2 playback. All forms of
VC-1/MPEG4 seem to work fine.


start on this TRAC ticket I opened: http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/7571

(If you look at the images attached to the ticket, you can see what it
looks like..the last two show it the most clearly..

NVIDIA linux guru Steven Warren was also able to reproduce the issue,
and mentioned fixes coming in the 256 drivers.. all 8 pages are here:
