[mythtv-users] What controls the volume level in a recording?

Right, I was talking about an analog recording.  It's probably a setting 
in the mixer,  but which input would it be?  I experimented with "Line 
in" but it made no difference when I played both recordings back (one 
recording very low and one recording very high).
