That's generally what I do as well, though I do tend to update about
monthly just to keep things close to updated. I also like to snapshot
the filesystem before I mess with it so I can roll back should
something break and I don't want to take the time to fix it right now.
It's easy if you have LVM or run the BE in a VM and netboot the FEs
like I do. I just "zfs snapshot" in the host OS, then do the "aptitude
upgrade" on the BE and FE images and "ltsp-update-image" for the
netboot image. Reboot the FEs, if everything works well after a few
days, I kill the snapshot. If not, I promote it and I'm back where I
started. :)
