This is why we have discussion ;)

Personally, I find the horizontal recordings menu annoying, because it
displays less recordings simultaneously. Either way, the same amount
of scrolling has to be done, but since I only sit down to watch some
TV once every couple of days, I like the quick overview of what's new.

However, I agree in principle that a horizontal layout makes more
sense on a widescreen television, and indeed I really like the menu
structure in Graphite, it looks really nice and is easy to use. I just
don't like the recordings screen there either, because it's reliant on
thumbnail images which are often taken from a segment of the previous
show.
