Thanks for the pointer.  Looks like someone is trying to do what Jarod
wished for.  Good for them for auto-detecting the box, too.  I was not sure
why these other changers make you edit the source code when firewire returns
the vendor/model id automatically.

Anyway, in the meantime I have found a mechanical solution.  (1) Disconnect
sa4200HDC, (2) disconnect sa3250HD in the other room, (3) swap and
reconnect.  

This will allow me to use the changer furnished with MythTV.  But I am going
to hang on to this link in case my 3250 craps out and Cox "upgrades" me to a
4000 series STB.
