Exactly.  It's not a case of "cleaning up means moving things from table 
control to code."

In 0.21-fixes and below, MythTV had only one way to do an EPG and it was 
100% controlled by code.  The setting allowed the code to try to change 
how much was displayed in the one grid you got--though failed in a /lot/ 
of cases.  A grid designed to show /exactly/ 5 channels per page with 4 
30-minute time blocks can only be modified so much by a setting (i.e. if 
you want more on the page, it needs to be designed appropriately--with 
smaller fonts, different areas, ...).

In 0.22 and above, MythTV allows the themer more control over the page.  
In future versions of MythTV, the entire EPG will be controlled by the 
themer.
