I have seen this as well, and just ignored it - I have tried ext4,
reiser and xfs to see if any were faster, but they basically all do
the same thing depending on the file size +/- minuscule amounts.

It is definitely something I can live with though.  I have never had 1
stay more than an hour so far.  I only realized what was happening
when I finally went to bed and they were gone the next morning.
