[mythtv-users] Recordings consistently failing - "Recording Unavailable"

I'm getting LOTS (by which I mean over 80% of recordings) failing on
some channels. Recordings on ABC1 and Channel 7 (Australia)
consistently lack a preview image in the watch recording screen and
display error message "Recording Unavailable" when I try to play them.

On one of them I've found a message in mythbackend.log that says:

I've rescanned the channels over & over again in the last few days
thinking that could be the problem, but it hasn't helped. I've also
found that much of the time the channels at fault can be viewed in
Live TV, though at other times it says "Partial Lock". I really don't
think it's a weak signal issue as I have line of sight of the
transmission tower a few kms away.

Looking through mythbackend.log there are lots of lines saying
"2010-02-25 17:07:35.871 MythSocket(9ba1e00:66): writeStringList:
Error, No data written on writeBlock (495 errors)". That sounds bad,
but I don't know what's causing it or even if it's related.

Can anyone please advise?
