I was on QT @1080. Switching to OpenGL sorts out the alpha stuff pretty well. The CC is
still visible under the sub etc, but it's no longer obtrusive. The Watched icon and the
others are also suitably shaded when not active, so that looks a lot better!

As for the Custom Record screen, I think there are a few issues around that which need
resolving. I'm still looking into it for a theme I am writing, so not sure exactly what
needs fixing yet. One issue certainly is around query strings that have newlines in
them, as the cursor position gets confused, taking the stringlength rather than the
linelength for the starting cursor position. Certainly doesn't help that this screen
isn't even in the UI wiki page (yes I know I could add it myself, but without knowing
what options there are, and what id required/optional etc, I'd not be able to add a
definitive writeup!)
