I don't have 0.24 fired up at present, and my boxes are all fe/be.  In 
the 0.23 frontend Mytharchive Settings (2) screen there's a 'copy remote 
files' setting.  Of course that may only speed up access to recordings 
that have already been found, but it might be worth checking.

At present I'd welcome your temperature problem.
