I consider tape faster than disk. I mean it compresses data at > 100
MB/s I have never seen a CPU ( 3.2 GHz i7 certainly are not that fast)
that can compress this fast to make disk backups anywhere near as fast
as tape. Although this does not apply to video since its already
compressed.
