[mythtv-users] hvr-1600 vs pvr-500 for capturing

<smile> I don't know how my question got turned into a USB one but thanks for the info :).
I had to use a USB audio device since the server I'm using at the moment was never meant to be for media.

Thanks for the input on the cards. If they are about the same, then the only thing I would wonder about would be using just one card vs the 1600 for ATSC and the pvr-500 for the capture side of things. If anything, it would offload the 1600 at least. Just wondered if there were any performance differences that users on this list might have noticed over time.

As for what's in the current box;

# ls -la /dev/video*
crw-rw----+ 1 root video 81, 0 2010-11-30 21:54 /dev/video0
crw-rw----+ 1 root video 81, 3 2010-11-30 21:54 /dev/video24
crw-rw----+ 1 root video 81, 1 2010-11-30 21:54 /dev/video32

I see something interesting in the dmesg log;
