Jean-Yves: I think you're right, that it is a VDPAU issue. However, I
have mplayer set up to use VDPAU. From my ~/.mythtv/config file:

#For SPDIF
ao=alsa:device=spdif
ac=hwac3,hwdts,
lavdopts=threads=4

# Default to VDPAU output and codecs
vo=vdpau,xv,
vc=ffh264vdpau,ffmpeg12vdpau,ffwmv3vdpau,ffvc1vdpau,

Robert has pointed me to ticket #9311, which appears to be the issue. I
will try to bump up the VDPAU buffer size as recommended there.

Thanks -
Bob
