My wife doesn't notice differences in quality much, but boy does she 
notice random lockups!  So if a piece of hardware is even rumored to 
cause random lockups, it's a definite deal-breaker for me!

That being said, my new Asus EeeBox ION frontend has been rock solid.  
Very happy with it.
