This sounds to me like some kind of bad interaction between the two drivers, 
probably caused by some kind of bug in one of them. A guess would be one 
overwriting memory in the other.

To debug this you're probably going to have to set DEBUG flags in the drivers 
when loading and fine-tooth the logs; or alternatively, get someone who knows 
the drivers to take a look...
