Verizon hates CableVision, because everyone around here (particularly
on Long Island) has OptOnline, and they can't break into the market.
CableVision also will sell you Optimum Voice for $19.99 (with
OptOnline); and the price is really $19.99.

If you call up Verizon to ask about FIOS, they won't tell you what the
taxes are. The taxes and fees on a triple play from Verizon are
significantly higher than CableVision, but they claim they are "about
what you pay now."

Generally, I find CableVision to be up front about what they'll charge
me, tell me what I'm going to get, and the times when I have had
problems with my service (thanks to squirrels liking the taste of CATV
insulation); they've been very responsive as far as getting it fixed.
