FWIW I build trunk under debian 5, (which I moved to from ubuntu as it
was a little big for a pvr), and I found that it's harder and harder
to build Myth (and XBMC) due to the age of certain things in the
standard debian distro.

I've had to move to 'squeeze' which means I can compile XBMC and myth again.

Mind you the 'apt-get update' and 'apt-get upgrade' steps to bring the
base system upto date were 'fun'. :)

To cut a long story short, whilst I'm happy with Debian, if you're
following trunk it's not without it's issues.
