Ok, I deleted both ~/.mythtv/lircrc and ~/.lircrc, then recreated 
~/lircrc (this time making sure that all the buttons were in uppercase.
Still irw give me output, ircat mythtv gives me nothing, and
mythfrontend does not respond. :-(
