My understanding of the issue is that mythfilldatabase doesn't wipe your
database of entries that are no longer valid for your channel lineup, at
least in normal operations.  It only refreshes, or updates existing
channels/lineups.  Maybe some of the channel removal command-line options
would perform some of those functions, but I couldn't say for sure as I've
never used them.
