I think what Nick was referring to was the "Use DVB Card for active EIT 
scan" tick box (under "Recording Options" of "2. Capture Cards" in 
mythtv-setup.

Its on by default I believe, so you just needed to turn it of on all but 
one of your physical tuner cards. (And remember to do this each time you 
delete & re-create you cards for any reason!).

You seem to have taken this a step further and separated out the video 
sources too, which I'm not sure was necessary, but then I gave up with 
EIT a long time ago so I may have misunderstood.
