haha, my ignorance shines through :)  that worked (thanks Travis), I have
the directory "/var/log/mythtv".

However running

nohup mythfrontend -l /var/log/mythtv/mythfrontend &

has identical results as before, and there is no file in the log directory.

A segmentation fault. :(
