I've queried this on the -dev list before raising a bug and they pointed
out they are already aware of this and it has been fixed in trunk [24145].

Its not been back-ported to 0.23-fixes yet (and might not be for another
week at least), but I've just tried patching my system locally and I can
confirm it fixes the issue for the DVDs I had issues with.
