[mythtv-users] OT - ATI Full Screen Video

I have been a laptop only user for quite some time, and bought my
first laptop without an nvidia card last year (well, for quite a while
anyhow)..

Needless to say I was extremely disappointed with the linux
performance of my ATI HD card in this laptop..  It never quite got
there with full screen hd video.  Especially since I planned to use
this laptop as a "portable" Mythtv fe..

Well, the radeon driver is finally giving me what I want.  As far as
2d goes, the radeon driver has surpassed the fglrx driver, and I get
tear-free full screen video.

In case anyone is interested, here are the relevant versions of software:

radeon xorg driver - 6.12.192
xorg - 7.5
mesa - 7.7.4
kernel - 2.6.32

BTW - I still will never buy another laptop with an ATI card in it  :)
