    I can only comment on #2 the jamu question. Searching by language 
should work for TV shows, unfortunately TMDB (movie source) has not yet 
implemented the language option on their site. Any German shows on TMDB 
could be searched for with the default language "en" English. When TMDB 
finishes language support then Jamu and tmdb.py will be updated. The 
code has already been implemented but has been made inactive.
    
For a TV show please give an example TV series and episode name from 
your EPG data if this is an issue with the jamu -MW options or a video 
file name if this is an issue with a MythVideo video.

Also if this issue is with MythVideo files does the "w" option in 
MythVideo get you the desired results?

Last but not least please indicate which version of MythTV and Jamu you 
are using. To get the Jamu version type on the command line:
/where ever jamu is installed/jamu.py -v
