Yeah, this is the similar card, with a PCI-PCIe bridge attached.  lspci reports:

03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation Device 065b (rev a1)

and also:

02:02.0 PCI bridge: Pericom Semiconductor PI7C9X110 PCI Express to PCI
bridge (rev 04)

I have given up my original quest to get the card working with
software rendering.  I wanted to keep on the stock version of MythTV
to ensure this frontend works and plays well with the rest of the
network but it doesn't seem like it is going to happen.  I have bitten
the bullet and installed the JYA packages for VDPAU support.
Everything plays quite nicely though there have been a few instances
where the frontend barfed when playing a recorded video.

I am using myth to correct the overscan for the GUI, but I am still
just putting up with it for recordings. The Nvidia documentation
seems to indicate that the TVOverScan option should be a number
between 0.0 and 1.0, with 0 being disabled and 1 being the maximum
amount of overscan. Even on 0.0 the overscan is huge, at 1.0 it is
seems about the same.
