I have a number of USB adapters that I use for testing. The best
performance is with a Dell 1450U such as listed on E-Bay
http://tinyurl.com/ox3sqm. This one has the advantage of both 2.4 and
5 GHz bands and comes with a 6 foot cable, which would allow some
variation in the placement of the device to maximize signal.
