I also had some trouble getting my ION recognized. I was using Mythbuntu
based on Jaunty. I ended up using 1.90 which seemed to the issue. I am not
certain if the ION requires 1.90 as I have heard others make comments that
would indicate they got it working with 1.80, but it did not work for me.
YMMV.
