The idea is to not have to worry about the state of the amplifier, the amp
just takes care of itself. I dont think I said to put amp on and amp-off
buttons on the myth controller, the amp state would be purely controlled by
the state of the MythTV frontend.
In reply to an earlier comment;
If I was going to do this with polling the frontend over telnet it would
need to connect every 10-15 seconds to check the state, as the turning on of
the amp would need to be fairly responsive - choosing what to play doesnt
take that long afterall. There is another 10 seconds while the amp would be
powering up as well.
