Very cool! I'll most likely start using these when I'm ready to
upgrade. I've always used by own customized versions of the standard
portage ebuilds to install mythtv, originally just to install patches,
and later to install svn revisions newer than what was in portage.
Since the standard portage eclass stuff for mythtv now uses static
tarballs in place of svn checkouts, I was forced to hunt down old
versions of the eclass files etc...yuk...I've been hoping for a better
option.

Being able to set the SVN rev in make.conf (rather than creating a new
ebuild) is great. I've never used layman before...I was just reading
up on it.

One question: There's a possibility I might have a few custom patches
of my own that I'd want in my overlay ebuilds. Am I correct that, if
I made any such changes in my overlay, I'd simply have to make sure to
re-add those changes if I do a layman sync? I figured that's all that
would be involved.

Thanks! Now I'm looking forward to the 0.22 upgrade much more than I was ;).

Tom
