Greg,
    That error is due to your configuration and not the python version.

It may be one of the following:
1) Your Myth data base is not running
2) Your Myth backend is not running

Please check that they are both up and running then try again. If the 
issue continues then try the script at here: http://pastebin.ca/1623280

You need to copy and paste it into a text editor then save with a name 
like "test.py". Make it executable then run it from the command line. 
Copy what it outputs and paste that back into a reply message. The 
script should reveal more information about why there is an issue 
accessing the data base.
