Good catch, I missed that he was using a PVR-250.  (Reading
comprehension's not so good today.)  That's an analog card, and the link
given earlier doesn't apply.

You actually shouldn't ever *scan* for channels on an analog source.  You
should get them from your listings provider, instead, then delete the ones
you don't get.

The digital switchover also took out all the analog channels above roughly
channel 34, on the Comcast system I'm on.  To get the rest you need a
cable box.
