Why not Xv?  After all, Flash is closed enough.  Why make it depend on a 
closed/proprietary feature of a closed/proprietary driver that only 
works for a specific vendor's cards?

If nothing else, at least VA-API.

I'll bet even ION toys would do fine with just Xv support--at least with 
the standard def Hulu stuff.
