You might find what you need under the Antec Veris brand, which are 
re-branded iMon units. Last time I was at the toy store, they had an 
Antec Veris unit for $30 which could clip on like a webcam. Another unit 
for about $80 slips into a floppy disk sized space...IIRC both came with 
a minimal remote. The first one might be just what you need, and is 
probably returnable if it doesn't...can't always be sure of that with eBay.
And of course, the iMon stuff works out of the box with lirc.
