[mythtv-users] lirc Channel Change Problems with IR-Blaster

I have an SA3250 cable box that I've been changing channels on for years with 
Mythtv 0.21 using S-Video inputs to a Hauppauge 150.

I've been using the change.chan.pl script with a serial IR Blaster I purchased from
http://www.irblaster.info/.

I recently purchased the Hauppauge 1212 and upgraded to 0.22.  After this upgrade,
the change_chan.pl was still working.  I could control the STB.

I had problems with recording on the HD-PVR.  Still am.  I was making a lot of changes,
like upgrading firmware, upgrading the kernel.  At some point, the channel changing
stopped.

The original IR blaster has a red LED that is visible ( not infrared ) as a repeater signal.
When I manually change the channel, I see it blinking red, but the channel does not 
change.  I sued my cell phone camera to watch it.  It can see infrared.  It does not
appear the infrared signal is blinking signals.  So, I bought a new IR-Blaster from the
same company.  It arrived today.

It does not appear to have a visable repeater like the old one.  I hooked it up and tried
it.  It does not seem to work.  I do not see infrared flashing with my cell phone camera.

I get these messages in /var/log/messages:

These look normal.

I also tried to fall back to an older change_chan.sh script.  It did give an error:

Running FC10,  2.6.27.38-170.2.113.fc10.i686,  serial IR blaster,  Mythtv 0.22.

Any idea where I check next?
