I've been running a single HD-PVR off a Motorola 6200 for the last few weeks, and I haven't seen this problem at all. I'm about to add another HD-PVR.

I have the 6200 outputting at 480p for SD and 720p for HD. My computer is a Pentium M @ 1.5 GHz. The SQL database is on the backend, but all storage is on another box, mounted via CIFs/Samba. The backend is running Mythbuntu 9.10, and I don't install the weekly fixes, though I'm considerring it.
