I see you are using vdpau (2009-11-14 10:48:04.617 [h264_vdpau @
0x69dd620]number of reference frames exceeds max (probably corrupt
input), discarding one)

vdpau seems very intolerant of stream errors. Maybe something in your
home video streams is slightly kaput, plays OK outsider the vdpau
system but vdpau chokes on it?
