If the problem /is/ that broadcasters/re-broadcasters are changing the 
way they're sending your channels, there is no such thing as a 
"permanent fix."

If it's not that, then likely you have a misconfiguration in your Input 
Connections such that things work fine for a while then just break.  
This is exactly what happens when you have a card defined with no inputs 
connected or a video source defined that's not connected to any 
inputs--i.e. if you have "extra garbage" in your MythTV input 
connections configuration.

(Could Myth be fixed to handle this?  Yes.  Patches welcomed.  It's on 
my TODO list but is /way/ down at the bottom, because IMHO it's easier 
just to configure Myth properly and the issue doesn't crop up that 
frequently because most people do so--and those who don't do so after 
the first time they have/identify the problem.)
