[mythtv-users] guide too slow, "unable to save" icon files

Okay, I did "chmod 777" on /home, /home/mary, /home/mary/.mythtv, and
/home/mary/.mythtv/channels, and verified that its rwx for everyone. I
am still getting the "unable to save" error in my logs when I browse
the guide (and I can hear my hard drive churning away ...)

This makes absolutely no sense! What could I be doing wrong?
