[mythtv-users] Can srt file names contain extra "." characters?

I was sad when I moved to 0.22 and it appeared that MythVideo would no
longer draw subtitles from a .srt file with the same basename.  Then
by accident, I found that it seems to depend on whether the basename
has a "." character.

For example, "The.Plan.avi" and "The.Plan.srt" gives no subtitles, but
subtitles appear after renaming to "The Plan.avi" and "The Plan.srt".

Has anyone else seen this?
