[mythtv-users] How can I map QAM channels to XMLid? (WAS: MythTV and Comcast (SF Bay Area) transition to digital)

I'm so frustrated at this point I'd really like to hear from some people
exactly how they've managed the feat of mapping digital cable channels to
the guide info.
I have a lineup setup in schedules direct. From that I can generate a report
that shows the mapping between XMLid and call sign. However I don't know if
a particular call sign maps to 83#2 or 2-1 and I have several very similar
call signs.
ChannelXMLidCall SignName210760KTVUKTVU18850439KTVUDT2KTVUDT2 (KTVU-DT2)622
50439KTVUDT2KTVUDT2 (KTVU-DT2)70219571KTVUDTKTVUDT (KTVU-DT)
Question 1): can I get the show listings directly from my lineup? For
example is Scrubs on XMLid 10760 or is it "Videos por favor"?

I tried looking at comcast's listings but they only tell me virtual channel
number, call signs(that don't appear correct in all cases) and the list of
shows. So it doesn't help me map channel 2-1 to an XMLid.

Next I tried dlou99's program to scan for QAM256 channels (
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=793017&page=330). This gives
me 10 lineups that look like:

VC CARRIER PROGRAM MODNUM NAME
============================================
2 79 1 4 KTVU

But after scanning for channels I have a few channels such as 2-1 and some
like 79#1. I figure that 79#1 would match the carrier=79 program=1 in the
example above but I have no idea how to deal with 2-1 since my output from
scte65scan does not list any carrier=2 program=1.

2a) which option is that "-f 1 -n 3" ? I've been playing with this but don't
think I've found an output option that gives freqid but I'm not sure I'd
recognize it unless the heading was "freqid".

2b) that would be great but I still don't know which of the 10 VCT_ID's to
follow. How do you determine what matches?

I would be infinite grateful if someone can help me resolve this. I've
wasted so much time already trying to get this working that WAF is slipping
dangerously low. If I don't get it setup before comcast stops analog
broadcast (next week!) we are going to start losing most of our shows and
WAF will plummet to dangerous levels. ;)

thanks in advance!
Matt
