Short answer is 'No'.  Streaming only works for the internal myth TV player.

General method is to share your music location using NFS or Samba and
remote mount your frontends to it.  You need to get the filepath the
same on frontend and backend.

eg if your music is in

/mythtv/mythmusic  on the backend then you should create a mount point
on the frontend called

/mythtv

and mount the mythmusic directory to it, so the paths to your music
appear the same on both machines.
