Thanks Sam

I am concerned because after about 2 years of my first system I now get regular
messages to the effect of "The connection to the backend has been lost"....
I've been working on the assumption this is a database that has got very
fragmented over time, or is bogged down.. but now I'm not so sure (I have tried
everything except deleting and re-creating the db from scratch).. .

cheers
