Along with that backup script it is good to be aware of the info in
the docs about creating the initial database:
http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-6.html#ss6.2. You may need to
create the database before you can restore the old one. In fact
mythbuntu will will set up one by default so you may need to drop
mythconverg first, then create and empty database, then restore the
old one. If it is a just a display issue you may want to look at your
drivers. If you are using an nvidia card, try reinstalling nvidia-glx
and try running nvidia-xconfig. On ubuntu systems EnvyNG can be
helpful in getting things installing and configured properly with
little input on your part.
