[mythtv-users] Dish Network DTVPal DVR

I am new to MythTV, but am very interested in the concept.  What is the maturity level of getting a system up and running?  That is, would getting it to work like I want (prettymuch a VCR replacement) require me to make it hobby?  

 

Also, what can a system cost for an acceptable 2-tuner low-end system?  What is the easiest most echonomical approach?  

 

These questions relate to Dish Network's DTVPal DVR.  What is the communities view of this product (if it has been discussed before)?  The price of $250 seems tempting if the software bugs are resolved.
