I'd need specific info on which keyboard/remote you're using to be able 
to tell.  What keyboard/remote is it?  (With link, preferrably.)  And, 
it sounds like you're using a "normal" Windows MCE IR receiver to 
receive the signals from the keyboard/remote.

Yeah, I use LIRC for my RW(v1)***, too, as it's really better treated as 
a remote.  I don't get the idea of using a "normal" remote as a keyboard 
(which requires mapping your keys in all your programs to respond to 
whatever keycode the keyboard driver assigns to the buttons--like "TV" 
or whatever).  For one with a true keyboard (as well as some 
"remote-like buttons, such as "Play" and "Pause"), though, using a 
keyboard driver makes a lot more sense.
