I would be curious if under and over clocking the GPU had any effect on
the artifacts. There is an nvidia utility that can change the clock
frequency.

If they are reduced at a higher clock, your hardware may be underpowered
for the task. If they are reduced at a slower clock the hardware may be
marginal at the stock clock (overheating, etc)

Anyway, just an experiment
