If you have a need for SD (and it sounds like you do) I would not
recommend a pcHDTV5500 for that.  I currently have two 5500's but
these days I only do OTA ATSC recording - they work great for that.
The NTSC/analog capture features of that card leave a lot to be
desired (particularly with audio; most people are forced to use the
line-in on their sound card instead of the 5500).  The PVR-xxx cards
(I used PVR-150's for analog capture back in the day) work much better
IMO.
